Q: What are the ID requirements?
A:The follow I.D. requirements are an FAA directive.
Customers 18 years of age or older are required to have one of the following:
An official photo identification issued by a government authority.
Or Two forms of identification, one of which must be issued by a government authority.
Acceptable forms of I.D. include the following:
Valid Driver’s License
Company I.D. Card
Social Security Card
Proof of Auto Insurance in Customer’s Name
School I.D. Card
Non-U.S. citizen’s who are residing in the U.S. should carry their passports, green cards and
any other document required for their U.S. residency.
Children under the age of 18 traveling with an adult are not required to show I.D. at time of check in.
Children ages 15-17 traveling alone need one of the following:
True Copy of Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Organization I.D. (such as athletic club, etc.)
Proof of Auto Insurance in Customer's Name
Children ages 5-14 traveling alone are not required to show I.D. at time of check-in, however, they are encouraged to carry some form of I.D. during travel.
Q: What time does the airport open?
A:The airport terminals are open 24 hours a day. Most airline ticket counters open between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Q: How soon before my flight should I arrive at at the airport?
A: The airlines now suggest that passengers arrive between 60 and 90 minutes before departure. Please call your respective airlines for verification.
Q: I have a 6:00 AM flight. Do the shuttles from the parking lots run that early?
A: Airport parking shuttles run every ten minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: Can I make a reservation in the long- and short-term surface lots and garage?
A: You cannot make reservations for any of the parking lots or the garage at Bradley Airport. However, there is usually ample parking available. To find out about parking availability, please call (860) 627-3555.
Q: How do I pick up, or drop off, a passenger?
A: The active pick up and drop off of passengers is still allowed at curbside in front of the terminals. (No waiting is allowed and under no circumstances can you leave your vehicle unattended.)
Q: I am a diabetic, how can I travel with my syringes?
A: Syringes must be wrapped in their original pharmacy packaging with pre-printed labels. Lancets must be capped and you should be prepared to show that they are used for blood-glucose monitoring by producing the glucose meter. You may also have to show that the meter brand matches the brand on the test strips. If you use an insulin pump, you should be ready to demonstrate how that works, if asked.
Q: Why must I leave my checked baggage unlocked?
A: The Transportation Security Administration recommends that you use cable or zip ties as an alternative to baggage locks to facilitate the baggage screening process. For more information, please see the TSA's web site at www.tsa.gov.
Q: Can I use my e-ticket and/or itinerary to get through the security checkpoint?
A: No - the Transportation Security Administration requires that you have a boarding pass when you arrive at the security checkpoint at Bradley. Passengers should allow extra time to check-in at the ticket counter. Some airlines offer the ability to print boarding passes off of their web sites.
